Happy Mother's Day to all those souls whose tender hands, open hearts, and common sense have helped shape this world.
Waiting for me this morning was a kitchen table laden with gifts, balloon, ribbons, and card.
Tokens from my sweet daughter who loves me as fiercely as I love her. We have a tumultuous relationship at times, but the love and steadfastness is never questioned. 24 years since her birth, and I am wondering where my 24 year old self has gone.....or wait...I am still only a little over 24 myself, right?
We take care of our kids and our families and our friends. We are their protectors, nuturers, teachers, counselors, private chefs, private trainers, tutors, guides and guards. It's what we do: it's how we roll.
We don't always take care of ourselves and that's why Mother's Day is
important. Did you notice how hard it was to sit by and watch as others served and took care of you? We are happily used to putting ourselves at the end of the line....but maybe it's time to put ourselves at the head of the line. If we don't take care of ourselves, how can we best serve others who count on us?
So, take care of yourself....take your women vitamins...be happy....be safe...be blessed, Kersten
